Kormisosh with all its charms is an extraordinary place located in the heart of the Rhodope Mountains. With its breathtaking natural beauty and variety of outdoor activities, Kormisosh offers an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and adventure seekers. 

Kormisosh State Hunitng Reserve is located in the town of Lucky. It belongs to the South-Central State Enterprise-Smolyan. It has a total area of 41 930 hectares. It occupies a part of the Prespa part of the Western Rhodopes with a highly cut mountainous relief, very steep slopes, with deeply incised and not always passable valleys. The ridges are mostly pointed with few flat spots. The average annual temperature in the area is varies from 6 to 10 degrees Celsius . During 170 days of the year the temperature is above 10 degrees Celsius. The annual number of snow-covered days is over fifty. The place is located 210 km away from Sofia and  60 km away from Plovdiv. There is a helipad available next to the “Karamush” hunting residence.

Kormisosh State Hunting Reserve is famous and legendary hunting destination, it was founded at the end of the 1960’s and it’s named after a Bulgarian ruler from the Middle Ages.  Over the decades it has hosted heads of state and government leaders and prominent public figures,. The average attendance is about 35-40 groups of 3 to 7 people each, with mainly foreigner visitors during the hunting season. There is also an increasing number of tourists without a willingness to hunt, for whom we offer photo hunting and observation of local flora, fauna, natural sights, historical places and the nearby spiritual sanctuaries - Bachkovo Monastery and Krastova Gora (Cross Forest).

Hunting: for those of you passionate about hunting, the Kormisosh Forest Reserve offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in the hunting experience and enjoy the comfort and convenience of accommodation surounded by nature. The hunting lodges, cantons and huts spread all over and are used as starting points for hunting and guarding. You can take part in hunting activities accompanied by experienced heritage hunting guides utilizing an area of 42 hectares of free wide open territory. The farm provides modern hunting gear and equipment (including a specialised drone) for surveillance and security, all-terrain vehicles, everything necessary for maximising the hunters performance and comfort . The main game representatives on the farm are: wild boar, red deer, fallow deer, mouflon, wild goat, roe deer, capercaillie, brown bear, wolf, fox and marten. 

A trophy wild boar with a world record CIC score of 158.20 points was harvested in the Kormisosh Forest Reserve. In addition, the collection of the best hunting trophy is completed by: red deer, wild boar, wild goat, mouflon and wolf.

Wildlife observation: the Rhodope Mountains are home to a variety of wildlife, and Kormisosh SHR provides an excellent opportunity for wildlife observation. The area is characterised by a high biodiversity, which is the reason why the territory of Lucky Municipality is 99% included in Natura 2000. Look out for the various bird species, including eagles, falcons and owls.
