TP “DLS-Kormisos” celebrated “Forest Week”-2024 with a number of initiatives.
On April 8, 200 trees were reforested. forest fruit trees (wild pears, jackfruit, sorrel, aronia), on the periphery of the game fields, with the aim of improving the nutritional base for the game with the participation of farm employees. On the same day, a Douglas fir tree was planted in the yard of “Hristo Botev” secondary school in the town of Laki by students from grades 1-12. In order to popularize the profession of Forester, a talk was held about the need for proper management of forests and their benefits. The students were also introduced to the history and development of forestry activities in the area over the years in their native region. Special attention was paid to the main functions, rights and duties of employees in the forest system. In connection with the presentation of the “marking” activity, the main devices and tools applicable in the practice of the forest officer were shown – bench, KGM, altimeter and stop stick. A demonstration of working with them was also carried out. In order to enrich the students’ knowledge about the local flora and fauna, a presentation was given on the topic: “The forest is life and a shared responsibility.” The forest as home to threatened, endangered and endemic plants and animals’ and the educational film ‘The Unknown Forests’.
A meeting was also held with the children in the “Yuriy Gagarin” DG – town. Lucky, also for the purpose of popularizing the forestry activity. The children created a personal garden by planting flower seeds. In the yard of the kindergarten, three bushes were planted, provided by TP “DLS-Kormisosh”. Fun games were also held.
Together with representatives of the municipal administration – the city of Laki and students from the VII and XI grades, 17 saplings of different tree species were planted in the city’s playgrounds, which were provided by the farm.
On April 9, employees of TP “State Hunting Farm – Kormisosh” gave a demonstration of game meat processing in front of students from SPGTS “Nikola Y. Vaptsarov” – town of Smolyan. Cooks from the hunting farm, together with young people, chose cooking as their profession , prepared dishes from game meat, which are part of the main menu of the Karamush Hunting Residence. Students, teachers and employees of the State Game Farm – Kormisosh prepared a three-course menu of ecological products provided by the foresters , under the expert guidance of forestry specialists, high school graduates planted trees and shrubs, thus demonstrating responsibility for the protection of natural resources.
